Dear Families,
Hello! Happy Monday! I cannot believe how quickly the weather is changing! We are definitely seeing and feeling the signs of fall around us!
First of all, I want to remind you that today is the final day for the Read-a-thon! The online school is acting as "one classroom" for prizes. Please click on the following link for details: https://sites.google.com/wacs1.org/readathon2020/
Next, we are having another packet pick up day this Wednesday from 4-5 pm. I will have materials that your child will need throughout the next couple of weeks. The pick up procedure will be just like last time. Just pull up in front of St. Stan's and we will bring materials to you. If this time does not work for you, please let me know and we will try to make other arrangements.
Our Virtual Scholastic Book fair begins this week and continues through October 11. This is a great way to purchase some great books for your family as well as gifts for family and friends. Next, we will begin Book It on October 1. There will be a letter in your materials that are coming home on Wednesday explaining Book-It. Attached is a letter about Book-It. This is wonderful program and is a wonderful way to keep kiddos reading every day! Please keep track of your child’s minutes for this month on the calendar will be coming home on Wednesday! The goal is that your child “reads” or is being read to 20 minutes a day! At the end of the month, your child may bring it back to school. Moreover, they will receive a certificate for a free personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut! If you have any questions about Book-It, please do not hesitate to ask!
I will also be sending home a conference form to fill out! When you receive it on Wednesday, please fill it out and send it back to be via email as this will help me prepare for each student’s conference. During the next week, I will also be sending out a sign up sheet that will allow you to schedule your child’s conference. All conferences this fall will be via Zoom. I am hoping to do conferences throughout the afternoon (after 2:20) and evening hours on October 12, 13 and possibly the 14th. Please remember school is NOT in session on October 15th and 16th.
Lastly, I would like to say thank you for all the love and support you have shown throughout the first few month of school! It is truly a joy teaching your children! If you have any questions or concerns about anything, please do not hesitate to ask!
