WCLO’s contributions have been instrumental in the success of Watts Rising. As the community-based lead for the TCC Displacement Avoidance Plan, WCLO has provided vital support to residents through rental assistance, legal resource referrals, foreclosure prevention, and financial education. These efforts have helped over 400 individuals maintain housing stability and avoid displacement, ensuring that the benefits of community development are equitably shared among all residents.
The 2024 TCC Annual Report highlights the collective impact of Watts Rising, showcasing the progress made in reducing greenhouse gas emissions, enhancing green spaces, and improving the overall quality of life for Watts residents. This study, conducted in collaboration with the Los Angeles Department of Transportation and Kounkuey Design Initiative, examines the transportation challenges faced by women in Watts, Sun Valley, and Sawtelle.
