A. Unfortunately the pens will no longer work (as of 2/1/2023) to control your PC when you are in iProjection and on "extended display" mode. It requires a Pen Touch Callibration process in Windows, and this feature cannot be accessed without local administrative rights. We have spoken with Tech. to see if it is possible to allow this, but at this time it is not due to security issues.
A. Epson Ink is not shared through a Zoom Screen Share because it is not actually generated by the laptop. Rather, it is generated by the projector "over the top" of whatever you are projecting from your computer. If you have students on Zoom and you want them to see annotations/ink/etc. you will have to use a tool that generates the ink/annotations from you computer. Some options include: Google Jamboard, Windows Ink Workspace, Kami App, or even a chrome extension such as Paint Tool for Chrome. In Zoom itself, the built in annotate option while screen sharing also works well and can be fully controlled by the Epson Interactive Pens from the Projection image.
A. Provide the student with the link to the Epson iProjection App in the Chrome Web Store: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/epson-iprojection/eckfnjciamkgacmglbfgficbidfdjpim?hl=en. If they cannot install the app, or receive any type of error or blocked message, please email helpdesk and provide them with the students name and ID number for further troubleshooting.
A. Yes! You can move the Epson Tool Bar. Simply press and drag with the Epson Pens to any of the four sides of the projected image and it will relocate accordingly. See this in action here: https://youtu.be/XICQssiKnWQ
A. (*NOTE if relying on interactive pens, it is best practice not to use an additional monitor. While the solution below may work for you, it does lead to a few added complications that can become frustrating if you are not fluent in managing Windows display settings.)
In order to use extended mode with an additional monitor as well, it is necessary to change the projected screen to the "Main Display." To do this:
Right Click on your Desktop and select Display Settings (or navigate there in the settings menu)
Identify which monitor is your Projector from the 3 displays shown (use the “identify” button if you are unsure.
Make sure that projector display is the one selected (will be Blue as shown in first screenshot below) and then scroll down to the “Multiple Displays” Section and check the box, “Make this display my main display.” (Screenshot 2)
A. First check to ensure all of your cords are properly seated in the ports on your wall and computer. Make sure they are firmly pushed in. Also note, your USB cord should not be longer than 15 ft in length. If it is, then you must use a "Repeater" cable along with it. Please see the diagram below for proper connection order for a repeater. With this setup the order of the cord DOES matter.
A. By default, the sound bars are on "Eco Mode." Disabling this will prevent it from turning off, but also means you have to remember to power down when you are done with it. To turn off "Eco Mode" do the following
Press and hold the Power and Volume - buttons on the bar at the same time
Hold for approximately 5 seconds or until you hear a low pitched chime - "Eco Mode" is now disabled.
(Note: doing the same thing again would turn "Eco Mode" back on and you hear a high pitched chime instead.)
You now have to remember to turn off the sound bar at the end of use (or end of Block, end of day, etc.)
A. You are not doing anything wrong! We have observed this as well and reported it to Epson for further troubleshooting. One very helpful thing to know is that if this does happen to you, press the Undo Button and your ink will return. (Undo is pictured below.)
