Who are the Viking Band Boosters?

The Viking Band Boosters are a volunteer group of parents whose students participate in the AVM Viking Band Program. They work together to raise funds and volunteer their time to help our students have the best band experience possible. Their efforts result in new sheet music and band equipment, support for the needs of our students on parade days, and funding that allows our students to travel in pursuit of unique performance opportunities. The dedication of the Viking Band Booster is truly the back bone of our program.

Want to join? Come to our next meeting!

Our organization will meet monthly, via zoom to discuss new ways to continue to support our band program. These meeting will place the first Thursday of every month. Our next meeting will be Thursday, September 7 at 7:00pm. A zoom link will be sent out via email the week of the meeting.

Volunteers Needed!

We are currently looking for parent volunteers to help with the following events. If you are able help, please click the event title and fill out the sign-up form. We thank you in advance for any time you are able to share with us!

Bolingbrook Pathways Parade - Sunday, September 10

There are two ways to volunteer for this event:
- Donate a 24 pack of 8oz water bottles (the small bottles that could fit in a lunch box): Students will need water before, during and after our parade. These smaller water bottles are easier for students to drink from while marching. To ensure that our students stay hydrated, I estimate we will need about 10 cases of these water bottles. If you are able to donate a case of water, you can drop it off with your student as we prepare load the buses around 12:15p.
- Chaperone: To best support or students throughout the parade, we will need several parents to walk the parade route. These parents would walk along 2 or 3 lines of students to get them water when they need it, and make sure that they are all doing ok. The time commitment for these volunteers would be from about 12:15-4:15pm. They would ride the bus with the students to the parade starting point and they can return with us to AVM on the bus as well. Ideally, we would like 10 people available to help us throughout the parade.

Romeoville Founders Day Parade - Sunday, September 17

There are two ways to volunteer for this event:
