Filling Shoe Boxes
In 2023, the Valley View Assembly of God church family packed 214 shoeboxes which were sent on their journey to a boy or girl that received this gift and heard about the greatest gift of all - Jesus. We had so much fun gathering and packing gifts this last year.
Operation Christmas Child is one of many ministries of Samaritan's Purse founded by Franklin Graham. For most of the children, this is the first gift they have ever received. These shoeboxes are distributed by local pastors and missionaries.
After receiving shoebox gifts, children are invited back to participate in a 6 week program, The Greatest Journey. Through this 12-lesson course, which includes Bible stories and Scripture memorization, they learn how to follow Christ in their daily lives as they share Him with friends and family.
In 2022, we packed 287 shoeboxes. In 2023, we packed 214 shoeboxes.
