6.1 Description of process ensuring appropriate recommendation
Visalia Unified CASC Induction Program progress monitors candidates through the induction process. In order for the program to provide initial, formative, and summative assessments and collect evidence of candidate progress, candidates submit their fieldwork, reflections, and evidence electronically through Milestones on inductionsupport.com. This work is done in collaboration and support of their assigned coach. Candidates follow the scheduled due dates of their initial, formative, and summative work on the CASC Candidate Journey, Timeline, and Requirements. These requirements are reviewed by the leadership team and provide feedback to make updates and changes. Coaching logs, professional development reflections, and attendance are also reviewed to progress monitor and support candidates and their coaches. Candidates and coaches are provided with a bi-monthly audit to show their progress toward their required documents as well as their hours required per CTC.
The Summative Review is in the form of an Exit Interview. The candidate presents the documents from the Fieldwork Portfolio to a panel of administrators and the Program Director with an explanation of each piece of evidence and shares how the candidate has met competency over the two years of induction. All documents completed by the candidate as well as the coach are carefully reviewed and a determination will be made as to whether the candidate has demonstrated completion and competence at a level that indicates he/she is eligible for a recommendation.
