CSF Qualification Guidelines - Please read FULLY before applying
Guidelines for applying:
You must earn a MINIMUM of 10 points from LAST semester's grade
*The first 4 points MUST be from List 1 (unless you're a senior applying in January or May)
*The first 7 points (including the 4 points described above) MUST be from Lists 1 and 2 (they can ALL come from List 1, though). Seniors must earn 7 total points from lists 1 and 2.
*The remaining points may come from any LIST (I, II, or III).
*You may only use FIVE courses to qualify. Summer School NEVER counts (including classes taken at COS or another community college).
*No CSF points are given for physical education, courses in lieu of physical education, subjects repeated to improve a grade, courses involving clerking and office/teaching assisting, courses taken on a pass/fail basis, nor any summer school classes. No points are granted to TA's or Academic Tutors.
Point Distribution for standard High School Classes:
A grade of an A = 3 CSF points | a grade of a B = 1 CSF point | a grade of a C = 0 CSF points
*ONE additional point shall be granted for a grade of an A or B in an AP or Honors course; you can only apply this extra point to TWO courses (Enter them first; the point bump is only available to apply on the first two courses listed). Please note: despite some VAPA classes being designated as "honors" courses, you cannot apply a point bump to these courses.
College Courses that earn 10 credits in a semester:
A grade of an A = 6 CSF points | a grade of a B = 2 CSF points | a grade of a C = 0 CSF points
*A grade of a D or F in ANY course, even in one you cannot use to qualify, disqualifies you from membership at this time.
Begin by entering your high school courses; if you have college courses to enter, you will do so in Section 3. This includes ANY Dual Enrollment classes you're taking on Redwood's campus, even English 1.
ALL COLLEGE COURSES COUNT; THEY ARE THE SAME LIST AS HIGH SCHOOL COURSES. Example: English 1 DE equates to any senior level English class - it is List 1. Psych 101 = AP Psych, it's list 2.
I recommend having your transcript available to you as you enter your courses.
