What is a scholarship?

  • Scholarships are financial aid awards designed to help students pay for college

  • Sometimes a scholarship is a one-time check. Other college scholarships are renewable and provide money for students each semester or school year. (CAPPEX)

  • Can be based on academics, athletics, extracurricular activities, major of choice, and much much more

How do I get a scholarship?

  • Apply! Many scholarships go unclaimed every year - your chances of getting a scholarship are MUCH better than you think

  • Remember, you DO NOT have to be the top student to be selected for a scholarship

  • You should NEVER pay to get a scholarship! When in doubt, ask you counselor about any offers that you have received.
