VERNON TOWNSHIP PUBLIC SCHOOLS

The VTSD online registration for the 21-22 school year for both Kindergarten and Preschool is now open! You may upload all pertinent documents via the online registration portal or can drop them off at the board office drop box later.

Before June 1st you will need to upload or bring the following documents:

• Birth Certificate

• Proof of Residency

• copies of 1-2 current utility bills

• Immunization records (if you have them)

Once you have completed the online registration, these document uploads are your last step for registration. Someone from Cedar Mountain will be in touch to confirm your paperwork is finalized.

This program is open to Vernon Township residents only. The child must be at least 3 years old and toilet trained. The program is a 2-1/2 hour session that is held 5 days a week. You have the option of a morning or afternoon session. No full day sessions are available. Parents must transport their child to and from school.

*Please be aware that at this time the 2021-2022 preschool location has not been determined.

After you complete the online tuition preschool registration and upload the pertinent documents (or drop off the pertinent documents), a $50 deposit is required to hold your spot. There is a $3,500 annual cost for tuition preschool to be paid in monthly installments of $350 September through June (deducting the $50 deposit in June). Please note that space is limited. Placement is based on a first come first serve basis. You can send the $50 deposit to:

2021-2022 KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION

Children who will be five years old on or before October 1, 2020, are eligible to register for the 2020-2021 school year. The first step in registering your child for school is to complete the online pre-registration. After you have completed the online pre-registration, please bring all necessary documentation, as listed below, to kindergarten registration.

NOTE: STUDENTS CURRENTLY ATTENDING THE PRESCHOOL PROGRAM WHO ARE REGISTERING FOR KINDERGARTEN or PRESCHOOL SHOULD NOT DO THE ONLINE PRE-REGISTRATION.

Registration dates are TBD. If you have not completed the online registration, please do so. We will contact you when we know our plans to complete registration.

1) Proof of Residency (Please note that this requirement must be met for all new students registering regardless of whether a sibling is already registered.)

a. Original deed or Settlement Statement from your closing and a current utility bill

b. Legal lease/rental agreement with both names of parents and children on it and a current utility bill

2) Child’s original birth certificate issued by the town or state of birth (not a hospital certificate)

3) Doctor’s certificate of immunization against the following

a. DPT – 4 doses – Fourth dose must be on or after fourth birthday; if not, a fifth dose will be needed

b. Polio – 3 doses – Third dose must be on or after fourth birthday; if not, a fourth dose will be needed

c. Measles (Rubeola) – 2 doses of a measles containing vaccine; the first dose must be after the first birthday

d. Mumps – 1 dose

e. German Measles (Rubella) – 1 dose

f. Hepatitis B – 3 doses

g. Varicella (Chicken Pox Vaccine) -- 1 dose after 1st birthday or documentation that child had the disease

4) Physical check-up from private medical doctor (prior to first day of school)

IMPORTANT: To register your child you will need to:

(1) first, establish residency by upload or drop off at the Board of Education building which is now located at Walnut Ridge School.

(2) then upload or drop off to Cedar Mountain Primary School with original birth certificate and all medical information.
