On Community Visit Day, Shelburne community members came together to discuss assets, challenges, and ideas for their future in 6 forums. Topics for discussion were chosen in advance by a steering committee of local leaders and included: Mobility, Accessibility, and Transportation; Climate Resilience and Natural Resources; Local Economy: Business, Agriculture, Tourism, Arts; Family and Community Connections; Infrastructure: Buildings, Energy, Water/Wastewater, Internet; and Housing For All.
The day also included a free community dinner featuring local musicians. A listening team of federal, state, business, nonprofit and philanthropic leaders joined the forums and dinner, and childcare was provided. See the notes from forum discussions in July and the action ideas for prioritization at the August 22nd meeting.
Shelburne community members came together to review, discuss, and vote to prioritize ideas for action shared in last month's forums. Through a dot-voting exercise, participants whittled down a list of action ideas to a few priorities and then signed up to join local task force groups that will move them forward. Here are the action ideas for prioritization at the 8/22/23 meeting.
Shelburne community members came together for the final step in the process. New task force groups built action plans, set the scope of their work, and met with a visiting team of resource providers and experts who helped identify available resources and funding opportunities. From here forward, all action is focused at the local task force level. Join a Task Force Today!
