On July 14, Concord community members came together to discuss assets, challenges, and ideas for their future in 4 in-person forums and a Zoom forum. Topics were chosen in advance by a steering committee of local leaders and included: Education & Families; Community Connectivity; Economic Development: Infrastructure, Housing, Preservation; and Recreation & Land Use. Community members also gathered for a free community BBQ dinner under the tent at the Community Church and will feature live music. A listening team of federal, state, business, nonprofit and philanthropic leaders joined the forums and dinner. Concord community members will come together to review, discuss, and vote to prioritize ideas for action shared in July forums. Through a dot-voting exercise, participants will whittle down a list of action ideas to a few priorities and then sign up to join local task force groups that will move them forward. Here are the Action Ideas for Prioritization at the August 8th meeting.
Concord community members will come together for the final step in the process. The new task force groups will build action plans, set the scope of their work, and meet with a visiting team of resource providers and experts to identify available resources and funding opportunities. From here forward, all action is focused at the local task force level.
