Meet Mrs. Erin Rismiller
Mrs. Rismiller has been teaching music and beginning band at Versailles Elementary and Middle School since 2020. She graduated from Milford High School (near Cincinnati) in 1993. Mrs. Rismiller attended Bowling Green State University where she earned her Bachelor of Music in Music Education in 1997 and is currently working toward her Masters of Music Education with a specialization in Elementary Classroom music at Anderson University. Mrs. Rismiller has always loved music and has knew she wanted to be a teacher for as long as she can remember! Growing up in the suburbs of Chicago, she began learning to play the FLUTE in the summer after 3rd grade and still plays whenever she gets the chance. Her freshman year of high school, she spent her study hall in the band room learning to play the TRUMPET just for FUN! But after moving to Ohio with her family during her sophmore year of high school, she decided to switch to the brass instrument called the EUPHONIUM (also known as the BARITONE). This instrument turned out to be her favorite and became her primary instrument and what she performed in college. While at Bowling Green State University she learned how to play many MANY more instruments, played with the bands at BGSU and sang in the Acapella Choir. After college, Mrs. Rismiller taught both BAND and GENERAL MUSIC before taking time off from teaching to stay home and raise her family full time.
You can still see and hear Mrs. Rismiller playing her instruments (typically the EUPHONIUM) in the Greenville Municipal Band every Sunday in the summer at Greenville Park (July 4-Labor Day) where she has been a performing for over 20 years! Mrs. Rismiller is also a performer and founding board member of the the Versailles Community Band. In summer of 2022 she also joined the Versailles Community Choir. Outside of musical ensembles, Mrs. Rismiller serves on the board and as the Secretary of Towne and Country Players in Versailles where she is also the costume coordinator for many theaterical productions. She also has sewn costumes and been the costume coordinator for Versailles High School Musical Theater performances including (The Sound of Music, Peter Pan, Singing in the Rain, Anything Goes, Beauty and the Beast 2016/2022, Cinderella, Footloose, Wizard of Oz, and Tarzan).
