ABOUT THE INSTITUTION
Sreekrishnapuram V. T. Bhattathiripad College is a first grade Government Aided College affiliated to the University of Calicut aimed at promoting higher education in the rural and backward regions of Sreekrishnapuram in the Palakkad district of Kerala State. The college is named after V. T. Bhattathiripad who is acknowledged as one of the pioneers of social revolution in Kerala. Established in 1982, the College is a Higher Education initiative managed by Sree Sankara Trust, a charitable organization that upholds the principles and ideologies of Adi Sankaracharya, the most renowned Advaita Vedanta philosopher and theologian of Namboothiri origin (Brahmin).
The college had its humble beginning as a junior college with two Pre-degree Groups. Upgraded to a degree college with the introduction of BA Sanskrit in 1991, it was further raised to a First Grade college with the sanction of M. Sc. Computer Science in 2001. At present the college offers six Under Graduate Degree courses and three Post Graduate Degree courses. The college is included in the 12(B) and 2(f) of the UGC Act 1956 as per letter No: F8- 91/99(CP-P-1) dated 20-03-2000 of Secretary. The College has been accredited by NAAC with B grade in 2009 and B+ in 2016.
The vision of the college is Tamasõma Jŷotiŗ Gamaya.
The ideologies and principles of the great social reformer of Kerala V. T. Bhattathiripad have been adopted as the mission of our college.

UGC STRIDE COMPONENT– 1
STRIDE (Scheme for Trans Disciplinary Research in India’s Developing Economy) has been launched by the UGC in 2019 to identify young talent,strengthen research culture and to build the capacity in young talents in humanities and human science. The scheme is expected to enhance the quality and excellence in research. UGC STRIDE Component 1 concentrates on research culture and human resource development in colleges and universities. The college was sanctioned a project entitled - Vedic Education System in Kerala – A Comprehensive, Scientific and Interdisciplinary Analysis under the UGC STRIDE Component 1 scheme. The study proposes to discover the salient features of the Vedic education system in Kerala by exploring its amazing vitality, persistence, intellectual impact,oral strength as well its textual and performance aspects. The research aims to reinstate its relevance and importance in the present scenario with regard to philosophical and practical aspects of the system.
