About Me

I am a Ph.D. candidate in the Department of Agricultural and Applied Economics at Virginia Tech.  My research interests span Climate Change, Rural Communities, Crop Production, Environmental and Natural Resource Economics, Applied Econometrics, and Geospatial Analysis. I focus on exploring the interactions between the environment and human activities.

My previous research examined the effects of nature reserves on rural communities in China and the impacts of climate change on perennial crop production in California. Currently, I am investigating the air quality effects of China’s Grain for Green program, the country’s largest ecological restoration initiative.
