I love being out on the water. Growing up, I spent a lot of time in Deltaville, Virginia fishing and exploring the area. About five years ago, I taught myself how to fly fish and I've been hooked ever since. My favorite adventure so far has been bone fishing in Grand Cayman. I enjoyed the thrill of hunting and stalking the fish from the beach, and it's still on my bucket list to catch one.
In addition to fishing, I also take pleasure in tying my own flies, a skill I'm still refining. Tying allows me to express my creativity, whether it's crafting a simple clouser for striped bass in the bay, a small nymph for pan fish and small mouth, or experimenting with my own designs.
I have been playing volleyball since my freshman year of high school, participating in both travel and high school volleyball. During my senior year, I had the honor of being a captain of my team and was recognized as an all-state player. I now play for the men's club team at Virginia Tech as a starting middle for the B-team. Additionally, I proudly serve as the treasurer and an executive member.
Our team regularly competes in various local Virginia tournaments and larger-scale tournaments like those at Michigan State and Maryland. This year we will also be going to Kansas City for our National tournament. I look forward to staying involved in volleyball at Tech and hope to join an adult league in the future. Volleyball has allowed me to stay active and keep a competitive mindset which I strive to have.
