The Speech Lab

The Speech Lab is co-directed by Dr. Katie Carmichael and Dr. Abby Walker, and housed in the English department.

We have two spaces in Shanks Hall. Shanks 254 (the Speech Lab!) is where we meet and process data, and Shanks 212 (the Listen Lab!) is where we run experiments.

We often hire undergraduate research assistants and/or advise undergraduate research credit hours. We generally (but not always) hire Language Sciences Minors, and/or students who have taken some Language Sciences classes. If you're interested in being involved in the lab, reach out to your Language Sciences professors!
