As you prepare your grant think about...

• Sourcing resources and forming collaborations

• Collecting data to demonstrate methods

• Identifying or collecting preliminary data to further support the central gap you identified

To Identify Gaps look for limitations and assumptions in the literature – all data must be interpreted and there are always limitations to interpretation

• Are there limitations of the study or statistical rigor?

• Are there assumptions - imposing binary interpretations on continuous data, ignoring important variables (sex, time, etc.), ignoring negative results, limitations of statistical interpretations, confounding correlation and causation, extrapolating across the context of data collection to other contexts?
