The goal of this site is to provide current water quality information for several springs that local communities use for household water. Please note that water quality is variable, i.e. it often changes due to season, weather, and other factors, so the water quality values you see for any given day may not represent the water quality when you visit the spring. None of these springs are regularly monitored, maintained, or treated. The information below is the result of research and outreach efforts over the past several years.
It is safest to boil spring water for at least 2-3 minutes before drinking to kill any potential microorganisms. You can also kill most bacteria in your spring water by following this simple bleach method. Note that chlorine (bleach) is not very effective against parasites like Giardia and Cryptosporidium.
