Dr. Mohammad Abdel-Rahman is an Associate Professor in the Data Science Department at Princess Sumaya University for Technology (PSUT) in Amman, Jordan, since October 2022, and an Adjunct Assistant Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) Department at Virginia Tech, Blacksburg, VA, USA, since January 2018. His research focuses on integrating artificial intelligence and operations research to address complex problems in communications, networking, energy, healthcare, and transportation.
Previously, Dr. Abdel-Rahman was a Research Faculty Member at Virginia Tech (2015–2017), followed by academic and leadership roles at Al Hussein Technical University (HTU) from 2017 to 2022. At HTU, he was the founding Chair of the Electrical Engineering Department and Director of the Wireless Networks and Security Research Laboratory.
Dr.Abdel-Rahman earned his Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Arizona in 2014, with a minor in operations research and mathematics, and received the College of Engineering Outstanding Graduate Student Award. He is a Senior Member of IEEE and a member of the Global Young Academy. He currently serves as an Associate Editor for IEEE Transactions on Cognitive Communications and Networking, IEEE Access, and Wireless Personal Communications (Springer Nature). He regularly contributes to the technical program committees of major international conferences.
