This new club is for youth in grades 3 - 6. We will cover a different STEM topic each month - everything from engineering challenges, video game design, kitchen chemistry, electricity, and more! The club will meet from 6:00-7:00 pm at the Extension Office in Boydton on the dates listed below. (Topics are tentative.)
November 4 - Environmental Science
December 2 - Kitchen Chemistry
January 6 - Engineering Challenge
February 3 - Renewable Energy
March 3 - Computer Science (Video Game Design)
April 21 - Animal Science

Members (ages 9 and older) meet to learn the basics of machine and hand-stitching. Projects have included aprons, bags, embroidery, and quilting. Sewing machines are provided during club meetings. The club is currently meeting during the school year on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Extension Office. Mrs. Donna Hallberg is the club's volunteer leader.

Interested in wildlife, nature, and our environment? Check out this club for youth in grades 3 - 6. Members of the Southern Piedmont Master Naturalists will lead hands-on activities. Each meeting will focus on a different topic. Club members have learned about wildlife tracks and scat, stream ecology, insects and pollinators, forestry and tree identification, owls, snakes, reptiles and amphibians, and plant foraging. Master Naturalists are working on new programs for 2026!
