Kentland Experimental Aerial Systems (KEAS) Laboratory
Users of the Kentland Experimental Aerial Systems (KEAS) Laboratory are privileged guests of the farm management. Activity that threatens the research activities or safety of other farm users, or any other irresponsible activity, may result in the permanent loss of these privileges for everyone.
Students: Before scheduling or participating in an event at Kentland Airfield, please read, print, and sign the following Rules of Use form and submit it to the responsible faculty member for your planned activity:
Scheduling Flight Activity at the KEAS Laboratory
Activity scheduling is done through the keas-lab Microsoft Outlook group. To schedule an activity you must be a member of the group. Please contact Prof. Craig Woolsey (cwoolsey@vt.edu) to request membership.
Scheduling Procedure:
After obtaining membership in the keas-lab group, go to your Outlook calendar and make keas-lab group entries visible.
Create an event and associate it with the keas-lab group so that it will appear on all group members' calendars. Enter the proposed times for your planned activities. (If your times overlap with an already scheduled event, contact the activity leader of that event to deconflict.) Include the following information in the reservation description:
(a) Name, mobile phone number, and email for the Activity Leader who will be present.
(b) Name, mobile phone number, and email for the Responsible Faculty Member.
(c) Details concerning the planned activity (nature, location, number of participants, spectrum usage, etc.)
3. Send a broadcast e-mail to the entire distribution list (keas-lab@groups.office365.vt.edu) announcing your scheduled activity.
