16 May, Dr. Huang volunteered in the COE Undergraduate Commencement Ceremony. Congrats to MME graduates!
13 March, Dr. Huang delivered a seminar on critical mineral recovery from mine tailings to visitors from National Defense University.
11 March, Dr. Huang attended 2026 REMADE Circular Economy Tech Summit in Washington DC and presented a poster on paper recycling.

24 October, Dr. Huang gave a short introduction in the 2025 Fall Department Advisory Board meeting. Glad to meet and chat with the advisory board members.
20 October, Mr. Yicheng Wang from Chemours gave a guest lecture in Dr. Huang's Fundametal of Mineral Processing class. Happy to learn about Chemours' titanium processing operation in Florida!
10 October, JJay Ordillas joined the group as undergraduate researcher to work on the mineral characterization.
26 September, Dr. Huang received a grant from Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI). We will be investigating the grindability of ashes generated from power plants.
8 September, Dr. Huang visited Chemours Discovery Hub in Newark, Delaware and delivered a presentation.
5 September, Dr. Huang attended Galipatia Slush Rush event. Glad to meet many freshmen at VT!
4 September, Dr. Huang gave a presentation on tailings processing in the 17th Annual PE Seminar of Metallurgical Coal Producers Association (MCPA).
10 August, Dr. Huang joined the Department of Mining and Minerals Engineering at Virginia Tech.
