Math Communication

One of my greatest life long passions is desperately trying to communicate the wonder and beauty of math to an unwanting populace. I genuinely believe that mathematics is one of the most fun and engaging things human beings have come up with and it is soul crushing to me that so many people have not been exposed to this side of math. Math is one of the greatest subjects with some of the worst PR and I am trying to help! To that end, I have spent a good part of my adult life creating platforms to share my love of math with other people. My hope is that one day I may reach an otherwise uninspired high school kid and change their mind about the beauty and utility of mathematical thinking.

Chillaxiom

Chillaxiom is a YouTube channel I run with my video partner Nick Brown. We started making videos in 2020 (yes, THAT 2020) and have never looked back! Except to view our older work of course, because the older videos still hold up!

The channel was started because I myself was inspired to become a mathematician by watching YouTube videos from Numberphile, PBS Infinity Series, and others, and I wanted to try and pass the inspiration along.

When I first discovered that mathematics was not at all the rote subject I had known it to be, but actually a deep, ancient, mysterious world yet to be fully explored and filled with some of the most ingenious ideas of all time, it was exhilarating! I felt like I had finally found the well of secret knowledge I had been idolizing my whole life. My hope for the channel is that we can recreate that experience for people and inspire more of them to explore.

CrackOAT

In the summer of 2019 I was contracted to make a series of 63 videos for an optometry prep website called CrackOAT. Overall, I recorded for several months, creating over 30 hours of content. While this math was more technical compared to the more conceptual math that I normally espouse, I enjoyed my time making these videos with my video partner Nick Brown and learned ALOT of lessons along the way.
