How much does 4-H Camp cost?

The camp fee is  $410 and includes meals and lodging for five days and four nights, a camp t-shirt and class supplies. A deposit of $100 is due with your registration and the remainder of the camp fee must be paid by May 22, 2026. The camp fee can be paid by check/money order or cash and more information about those options can be found on the Payment Page. We also offer scholarships for those with a financial need.  

Bus transportation will NOT be provided to and from camp this summer due to the significant increase in charter bus fees.  Instructions for parent drop off at the Airfield 4-H Center will be provided at a later date.  

National Accreditation

Virginia’s 4-H camping program is recognized throughout the nation as a leader in 4-H camping programs. Each of the six Virginia 4-H Educational Centers has achieved and maintains American Camp Association (ACA) accreditation.

Parents and guardians should always look for the ACA seal when selecting a camp for their child to attend. Only about 25 percent of all camps in the nation are accredited by the ACA, the recognized camp accreditation organization in the United States. Having ACA accreditation means that the camp meets the highest standards for safety, food service, staffing, health care and program quality.

Airfield 4-H Educational Center maintains these standards annually. Additionally, all 300 standards are reviewed every three years for reaccreditation. Each 4-H Center program staff person, as well as the adult and teen 4-H volunteers who participate in camp, are carefully selected and trained prior to the camping event.

3 Easy Steps to Sign a Child up for 4-H Camp (Be sure to go to each link/tab to avoid missing a step)

1. Fill out the 4-H Camp Registration Online Form.

2. Enroll your child in 4-H Online. This enrollment ensures that we have your child's full health history information and that you and your child have agreed to the Code of Conduct. Make sure to enroll your child in the Chesapeake 4-H Junior Summer Camp (Campers) unit. *For those 4-H'ers already enrolled in 4-H Online, the 4-H Extension Agent will help you to add the 4-H Camp unit to your existing enrollment.

3. Pay for camp. A deposit of $100 or a scholarship application is due with your registration and the remainder of the camp fee must be paid by May 22,2026.
