The BALTO Jupyter Notebook GUI is available on GitHub here. It is a general use Jupyter Notebook that provides access to datasets on servers that utilize the widely used Data Access Protocol (DAP). Users of the BALTO Jupyter Notebook GUI input the web address of the server and can choose from a dropdown menu which dataset they want to load into the notebook interface. Mapping functions, data subsetting, and many other functionalities are built it. Users can then use standard Jupyter Notebook functionalities to design their projects.

The BALTO Hyrax Extension builds upon the widely used server software Hyrax and is available on GitHub here. The BALTO Hyrax Extension is in all Hyrax releases beginning with 1.15.1 and produces landing pages and dataset-request forms for its collections and datasets. These HTML documents now contain descriptions encoded in JSON-LD via the BALTO Hyrax extension. As a result, the dataset landing pages should be searchable through EarthCube GeoCODES and Google Dataset Search.

The BALTO ASPECT URL Reader is an extension to the community finite element code ASPECT that is used to model Earth dynamics and other planets. ASPECT is part of the NSF Computational Infrastructure for Geodynamics suite of codes and is available on GitHub here. The BALTO ASPECT URL reader makes it possible for ASPECT users to access data files that are located on remote servers that use the Data Access Protocol (DAP) by defining a URL in their parameter file.
