BALTO is an EarthCube funded project that provides tools for improved access to geoscience datasets through brokering.

EarthCube was initiated by the National Science Foundation (NSF) in 2011 to transform geoscience research by developing cyberinfrastructure to improve access, sharing, visualization, and analysis of all forms of geosciences data and related resources. The BALTO project helps EarthCube achieve its mission by providing tools that enable enhanced access to geoscience datasets. The BALTO Team has developed 3 key open source tools for use by geoscientists and others that are available on GitHub.

Also in alignment with EarthCube, we are committed to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the geosciences. We do our best to recognize, appreciate, and respect the diversity of the geoscience community.

Funding for the BALTO project has ended. All products remain openly available.
New publication by Dr. Njinju in the Journal of Geophysical Research that leverages the BALTO ASPECT URL Reader.

BALTO will have a Q&A session for the above presentation as well. It is scheduled for December 16, 2020 at 9:30 am MT / 11:30 am EST.
Emmanuel Njinju will have a poster at the American Geophysical Union 2020 Fall Meeting. His poster number is T041-0008: Plume-Lithosphere Interactions and Melt Generation Beneath the Rungwe Volcanic Province, East Africa and it is available online for registered attendees.
Emmanuel Njinju was elected to the EarthCube Leadership Council as an At-Large Early Career Member!
D. Sarah Stamps is leading a Science and Engagement Team Working Group on Geoscientists' Engagement. They were awarded EarthCube Governance funds to develop a virtual training workshop template for EarthCube projects with ASSET as the use-case.
