AWT4CL Update for August 2025
AgriProspects: Extension is advancing adult workforce development through AgriProspects, a five-year project supported by USDA-NIFA. You can learn more through the AgriProspects 2025 Summit recordings. Also, if you are interested in contributing to the work, consider applying for an AgriProspects mini-grant. Proposals are due August 31st.
Building Leadership Capacity: The AWT4CL project team continues to share insights and resources with educators. Last month, that included a poster presentation for the Association of Leadership Educators’ annual conference. Check out the poster and related abstract: "Building Leadership Capacity: Digital Badges as a Tool for Workforce Development."
Bridging the Gap: Last month, Mallory White reflected on efforts to enhance the community college curriculum. You can read about it in her blog post titled “How AWT4CL Digital Learning Badges Led to an Entirely New Course Dedicated to Ag Workforce Readiness, Leadership, & Policy.”
More Than a Merit Badge: Our blog series continued with a post from Ben Casteel, describing his experience with the AWT4L employability skill badges, including related engagement with employers. This and other contributions are available on the AWT4CL blog: https://sites.google.com/vt.edu/awt/blog
