AWT4CL Update for June 2025
Blog Series on Learning Badges: More resources are now available for the AWT4CL employability skill badges, including a complete blog series on the available badges. Please check out the New Series Introduction: Building Employability through Digital Learning Badges. This and other contributions are available on the AWT4CL blog: https://sites.google.com/vt.edu/awt/blog
Sharing Badging Resources: We continue to share AWT4CL badging resources, including a poster on “Bridging the Skills Gap: Digital Badges for Employability in Agriculture” for the annual meeting of the American Association for Agricultural Education (AAAE), as well as Canvas Commons modules for those implementing the badging through a Canvas Learning Management System (LMS). What might help you with your implementation?
Networking Guide: Are you looking to make the most of potential new connections this summer? Consider advice from Elizabeth Galbreath’s networking guide: (1) Set your networking goals, (2) Identify your people, (3) Make a meeting plan, (4) Follow up, and (5) Repeat process and nurture. You can get the complete guide here: https://elizabethgalbreath.kit.com/networkingintern
Smart Followership: While our culture in the U.S. tends to glorify leadership, success often depends upon “smart followership.” That insight is from David Elser’s book, Doing the Chores, and is highlighted in a brief video: Chore Chat # 7 Follow Smart.
