About 4-H
4-H is the largest youth development organization in the country, reaching 6 million young people annually.
4‑H is delivered by Cooperative Extension—a community of more than 100 public universities across the nation that provides experiences where young people learn by doing.
In Virginia, Cooperative Extension and 4-H are housed with Virginia Tech and Virginia State University, bringing their resources and research to benefit young people in our programs.
4-H helps young people find their spark, build real world skills, and become resilient, adaptable, lifelong learners.
4-H is more than a particular project, we're a process of learning. Through hands-on and engaging activities, youth and their adult leaders learn valuable life skills.
