BLACKSBURG, Va. — In its first of four games in the spring season, Virginia Tech earned a 2-1 victory over Charlotte and looks to win its only home game of the season against William and Mary.

The Hokies had an exciting start to their season on March 7 against Charlotte when forward Victoria Kozlova found the goal in the 87th minute to break the 1-1 tie.

William and Mary (0-0-2) come into Blacksburg with two ties this spring, one being a late game thriller against VCU and the other a contest seeing no goals against Charleston — both games were away from home.

The Tribe will look to end their three game road trip with a victory in Blacksburg to earn the first win of their season.

Virginia Tech (6-8-0) will look to add to its four-game regular season win streak (starting against Navy last fall).

The two sides met only twice last decade (2016 and 2017) with Virginia Tech winning both games. Saturday marks the ninth all-time match between the two Virginia schools. William and Mary have the lead in the series with five wins.
