DURHAM, N.C. - No. 8 Virginia Tech opens up its two-day road tour in Durham, N.C. on Friday night against Duke.

Tech is coming off of a 19-15 home conference win against Virginia last Friday in Cassell Coliseum. The Hokies enter the match with a lot of confidence with a perfect record on the season (5-0, 1-0 ACC).

VT is 31-12-1 all time against the Blue Devils and have won 16 straight matches. The last time Duke won a match against Tech was Jan. 11, 1999 in Blacksburg. The last time Tech lost in Durham against Duke was Feb. 29, 1992.

The Blue Devils are 0-2 overall and in conference play this season. They have only had two matches this season against No. 13 Pittsburgh and North Carolina.

Virginia Tech has six wrestlers in the InterMat rankings coming into the match Friday night: No. 1 Mekhi Lewis, No. 2 Hunter Bolen, No. 8 Korbin Myers and No. 12 Bryce Andonian. Duke, on the other hand, has two.

Andonian could have a ranked match up against Duke’s No. 19 Josh Finesilver. He is 4-0 this season after winning all four of his dual matches. Three out of his four victories have also come in bonus-point victories.

Friday night’s match against Duke in Durham will be at 5 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
