tech snaps two-game losing streak with win vs. no. 39 miami

BLACKSBURG, Va. — Virginia Tech defeated Miami on Sunday at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center by a score of 5-2. This is VT’s second conference win of the season, which puts them eighth in the conference standings.


The Hokies (6-4, 2-2 ACC) handed the Hurricanes (3-4, 2-1 ACC) their first conference loss of the season Sunday.


Ryan Kros, Carlo Donato, Hugo Maia and Michael Shepheard all won their doubles matches on Sunday. Maia was the only Hokie on Sunday to win his doubles match, 6-3, with Shepheard and his singles match, 6-0, 6-3.


Mathia Ross, Ryan Fishack and Alvaro Ariza all won their singles matches Sunday.


Tech’s next match Tuesday at home against Florida State at 2:30 p.m.
