BLACKSBURG — Virginia Tech fell to No. 1 North Carolina 7-0 on Friday afternoon.
Friday’s loss puts Tech sixth in the ACC standings.
The Hokies (8-6, 4-4 ACC) came into Friday’s match off of a loss against No. 45 Georgia Tech (7-0) and a postponed match that was supposed to be played against VCU.
UNC (12-0 overall, 5-0 ACC) came into Friday’s match off of a win against South Carolina.
The only win for Tech came from the doubles match when Mitch Harper and Alex Riberio won, 6-4.
VT’s next match is against Duke on Sunday at 11 a.m. in Blacksburg at the Burrows-Burleson Tennis Center.
