BLACKSBURG — Virginia Tech (4-11, 0-8) will take on No. 1 North Carolina (17-0, 7-0) in a rescheduled matchup from Feb. 19 on March 26.

The Tar Heels are a major threat for the Hokies, boasting 10 nationally-ranked players. Sara Daavettila was listed as No. 2 in the national for singles play in the list released on March 24 and earned ACC player of the week.

Daavettila and her partner Cameron Morra are also No. 3 in doubles

UNC has held its top ranking for the entirety of the spring season and has won its last 35 matches.

For the Hokies, they’ve dropped their last two matches. Katie Andreini and Nina Sorkin were the only two Hokies to win their singles matches in the last two meetings.

The last time the two teams met was on March 1, 2020, which resulted in a 4-0 loss for the Hokies. At the time, UNC had five ranked players.

Tech has yet to win an ACC match this season and this will be an uphill battle on the court for the Hokies against a skilled and experienced UNC team.
