BLACKSBURG — Head Coach Chugger Adair and his Virginia Tech staff continue to roll out their impressive 2021 recruiting class.

Enter Allie George.

The five-foot-11 Louisville, Ky. native brings a strong résumé to Blacksburg. She played four years at Sacred Heart Academy, an all-girl preparatory school based in Hempstead, New York, the western part of Long Island. Regarded by MaxPreps as the No. 1 team in the nation in 2018, George played a critical role in Sacred Heart’s success.

She led Sacred Heart to district, region and state titles in 2020, and earned the Golden Ball award. George was also named the 2019 Louisville Catholic Player of the Year, an award given out by the Louisville Catholic Sports Network that recognizes the best student-athlete in a particular sport.

Additionally, she played for Louisville-based Javanon FC for 10 years and captained the squad for six. She amassed 27 goals and 15 assists.

Adair spoke highly of her height and skill.

“We are thrilled to have someone of Allie's caliber join our program,” Tech head coach Chugger Adair said. “She's proven to be successful throughout her club career. Allie has tremendous versatility, good size, power and is a threat in the air. She will also add depth in the spine of our team.”

With George’s height, she will be a crucial weapon on free kicks near the box and corner kicks, having notched multiple goals and assists on set pieces last season. Combined with breakout star Tori Powell, veterans Emily Gray and Nicole Koslova, and depth pieces like Ayden Yates and Kendall Feighan, this Hokie offense is shaping up to be a dangerous one in the fall.
