The ACC announced today that midfielder Emily Gray was named co-offensive player of the week alongside Boston College’s Jenna Bike. Gray leads the nation in assists and produced two in Virginia Tech’s 2-1 win over Navy.

The Sewell, New Jersey native’s performance lifted the Hokies over Navy in the teams first ever meeting. Her first assist came on a give and go where she led Tori Powell with a through ball that she placed in the back of the net in the 22nd minute. Gray earned her third game-winning assist of the season and seventh of her career in the 41st minute on a pass that forward Allyson Brown booted in.

Gray’s seven total assists this year has put her at seventh for the most ever assists in a single season at Virginia Tech. She now has 15 career assists which is seventh all time at Tech. Gray also leads the Hokies in points this season with nine.

Gray is just the second midfielder to ever earn this honor at Virginia Tech. Alongside her keeper Alia Skinner, this is just the fifth time two different Hokies have earned ACC honors in the same season.

Emily Gray and the Hokies (3-7, 2-4 ACC) head on the road to face Wake Forest (2-4-1, 2-3-1 ACC) at 7 p.m. on Thursday.
