Have you heard about environmental DNA (eDNA) but you'd like to know more about what it is, how it works, and what it can be useful for? This hands-on workshop will take participants through the stages of collecting samples, analysis and interpretation of results. Especially good for managers that suspect this tool could be useful for their focal organisms or students that would like to learn more about this technique. We will discuss the promise and pitfalls and discuss how to optimize the procedure.

UAVs, or drones, are a new technology generating a lot of interest in the realm of wildlife research and management but there is a lot more to implenting a successful UAV project or program than learning to fly. In this workshop, we will provide an overview of the legal, operational, and logistical factors to consider before launching a UAV project. We will discuss vehicles, sensors, regulations, and post-processing steps and participants will gain essential baseline information for more advanced classes necessary for Part 107 licensing.
