September 30 - October 4, 2024

Accelerated Math:

This week we worked with coordinate planes. We plotted points with integer and rational number values, we found distances between two points and we found perimeters of polygons on coordinate planes. We have finished our unit and will test on Tuesday, October 8th. 

  6 Math:

This week we worked with rational numbers. Students were ordering, comparing and putting rational numbers on numbers lines. Check out the "Student work and accomplishment" page or our Newsletter for a couple of pictures.  We will have a quiz over the Number Systems on Tuesday, October 8th. 

Reading

In Reading, students were introduced to their summative book report assignment called a One Pager on Google Classroom.

Writing

In Writing, students are wrapping up their parts of speech units with a quiz this Friday over Adverbs and Adjectives.

This week we learned more about the skeletal system. We also practiced taking science words and identifying parts (prefix, root, suffix) as we learn commonly used prefixes and suffixes. We will continue to learn more about the skeletal and muscular system as we diagnose our first patient. Next week on Tuesday we will have our first quiz on body organization. I will send an email reminder on Friday and Monday.

We created (and in some cases) presented our continent project digitally.

We also completed a torn map of the world.

Finally, we took a post-check on the continents and oceans which can be seen in IC to see our growth from the beginnig of the unit until now.
