September 23 - 27, 2024

Accelerated Math:

This week we continued working with integers. We practiced integer rules for adding, subtracting and multiply/dividing. Students took a quiz on Wednesday, grades are updated in Infinite Campus. 

  6 Math:

This week we finished Topic 1 and took a test on Tuesday. Grades are updated in Infinite Campus. We started our next unit over Number Systems, the first half of this unit will have homework in a purple packet along with the notes. We are exploring different resources this year, so this change is temporary.   

Reading

In reading, students wrapped up their work on the importance of focusing on details in a text. We have spent time practicing and looking at sensory details and visualization.

Writing

In writing, students are continuing their parts of speech unit and are currently in our final examples of verbs and adverbs.

This week we learned a bit about our first patient that we will diagnose as we learn about organ systems.

We started our independent, digital project about our chosen continent. We will complete this project in class next week. It is a slides presentation in our google classroom. We should finish our dedicated study of continents and oceans next week. Then we will start studying the regions of the USA.
