Accelerated Math & 6 Math
Accelerated Math:
This week students took a pre-test and reviewed decimal operations and dividing fractions. We will move faster through this material in accelerated math since most of the material was introduced in 5th grade.
6 Math:
This week students started lessons and activities for solving decimals with addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Homework is assigned usually every other day and is in their textbook/workbook. Students can locate homework information on their Google Classroom. Reminder, homework is 40% of their grade and it is very important that it is completed on time.
ELA
Reading
In Reading, students have been discussing different types of Point of View in literature and stories while comparing that to Perspective.
Writing
In Writing, students took their first iReady diagnostic test of the year. iReady tests will be a tool we use to track academic growth throughout the year while also being a predictor tool for MAP testing.
Science
We had a lot of introductions to the science world. The class started their own science websites, got a classroom tour, learned how to use microscopes and how to make scientific observations. We finished the week taking a pretest on how to measure using a ruler. I am excited to jump into content very soon.
