Accelerated Math:
This week we completed Topic 2 over integers and rational numbers. Grades are updated in Infinite Campus. We started Topic 3 over numeric and algebraic expressions. We practiced finding GCF and LCM. And understanding and evaluating exponents. We will have our Topic 3 quiz on Friday October 18.
6 Math:
This week we took a quiz over the first part of Topic 2. We continued our practices with coordinate planes. Students are plotting points, naming ordered pairs, and finding distances between points.
ELA
Reading
In Reading, students have practiced reading a text and then summarizing it into written paragraph format. As a reminder, their summative One Pager book report is due next Friday. All instructions and examples are on Google Classroom.
Writing
In Writing, students are learning about the Elements of Fiction and are going to be introduced to their first large writing assignment this Friday called the Multimedia Project.
Science
We had a very eventful week in science. The class took a quiz (grades posted this weekend), made observations on our ongoing chicken bone experiment, looked closer at our patient, and collaborated with groups. Next week we will be dissecting chicken wings and diagnosing our first patient! Look out for an email with more details on dissection. Science class will be learning sign language for the rest of the year.
As always, reach out with any questions 🙂
