A Little Bit About Me

This is my 25th year of teaching math. I taught a year in White Bear Lake, a year in Browerville, and then settled into the Wadena-Deer Creek District for 15 years before coming to Verndale. I have taught every level of math grades 7-12 and also college courses. I truly believe that all students have the ability to learn high levels of math. I love to see them start figuring that out for themselves.

I have been married to my husband, Chris, for 26 years. He actually did this job, teaching in my classroom, until he took over his Dad's drywall business 8 years ago. We have 2 children, Tate and Joelle, who are both Verndale graduates. Tate and his wife, Emily, got married this summer and moved back to Wadena. They are both graduates of the University of Northwestern. He is a Data Analyst for Astera, and she works for Russ Davis. Joelle is pursuing her Math Education degree at the University of Northwestern in St. Paul.

My family enjoys hunting and fishing. I love to hike, kayak, run, read, walk my dogs, and craft with friends. I also help out with the Verndale Alliance Youth.
