Activities
This summer, we will have visits from local police, firemen & EMTs, students may go on walking trips to the library to sign up for summer reading programs and engage in planned activities, practice weekly for/perform in a talent show, and so much more!
This summer we will be incorporating weekly themes into our ESY program. Each week teachers will be given templates, materials, activities, etc to use throughout the week to incorporate our theme. Of course, teachers are welcome to plan and create their own activities to go along with the theme also. Each week there will be at least one activity for all ESY classes to participate in together. We will also be joining some of the CER summer camp’s fun activities!
Our team is also planning an incredible culminating Olympic themed field day! Each class will be assigned a country to represent. They will create flags and work on mini- projects in the weeks leading up to field day. On field day they will compete against other classes in head-to-head friendly competitions displaying good sportsmanship, not only applying learned social skills, but utilizing the gross and fine motor skills fostered and developed during ESY programming.
Bus Procedures: This year students who are arriving via the bus will be receiving an identification card to attach to their backpack. This will include their name, teacher name, and bus number. They will receive the identification card and lanyard from their bus driver on the first day of school.
