OUR PURPOSE & MISSION
The Drone Club is designed around the construction and study of drones. We aim to promote the use of drones for recreational, educational, and professional use in addition to providing proper training and safety guidelines.
The mission of the Drone Club is to:
Encourage student engagement and interest in the safe operation and usage of drones & model aircraft for academic, professional, and competitive purposes.
Train students in the proper use and safety procedures for operation of drones and model aircraft including topics such as Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 107.
Develop and promote a collegiate MultiGP Drone Team and / or other competitive teams for competition.
Expand student skills in designing, engineering, and programming to create in-house drones.
Provide students with a fun learning experience as well as a sense of community.
CLUB MEMBERSHIP & HOW TO JOIN
Our club is open to all students enrolled at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville regardless of major or grade classification. We encourage all interested students to join our weekly meetings for an in-depth experience of what our club offers as well as to connect with officers for any questions, comments, or concerns.
