Hi, I'm Debanjali Dasgupta, a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the University of Tennessee. My research lies at the intersection of applied microeconomics and health economics, with a particular focus on maternal and child health. My interests include health economics and the health–environment interface.
My current work investigates the impact of the Personal Responsibility and Work Opportunity Reconciliation Act (PRWORA) and associated Medicaid eligibility restrictions on immigrant mothers' access to prenatal care and birth outcomes. Using Vital Statistics Natality data and a difference-in-differences-in-differences framework, I assess the causal effects of policy changes on maternal health equity.
If you'd like to connect or learn more about my research, feel free to reach out to me at ddasgup2@vols.utk.edu.
