nGauge Device Instructions
HOW TO PULL THE STOCK FILE
Plug your nGauge device into the vehicle via the OBD2 port
** The pass-through device for the Roush Active Exhaust MUST be unplugged from the OBD2 port before pulling STK file**
Tap the tuning option
Navigate to and tap the read vehicle option
Confirm your vehicle information displayed by selecting the check mark
Allow some time for the device to retrieve the information
Once completed, you can pull the file from the device by doing either of the following:
Remove the Micro SD card from the device, plug it into your computer (this will require an Micro SD adapter which is included with the nGauge. Navigate to the "stock files" folder. Copy the "StockFile.stk" to desktop
If you do not have the proper port to put the SD card into your computer, an adapter will need to be purchased - such as the one displayed in this link : https://www.amazon.com/IOGEAR-MicroSD-Reader-Writer-GFR204SD/dp/B0046TJG1U
Connect a mini-USB adapter to the face of the nGauge and also to your computer Select "Diagnostics" on the main menu, select "USB SD", navigate to the "stock files" folder, copy the "StockFile.stk" to desktop
Send "StockFile.stk" as a response to the email thread that the stock file was requested in
HOW TO LOAD CUSTOM TUNE (.enc) FILE TO VEHICLE
Save the .ENC file to your desktop
DO NOT try to drag the file from your email to the device - it must be downloaded first
Insert the SD card into your computer (A), OR connect your nGauge via cable (B)
(A) Remove the Micro SD card from the device, and plug it into your computer - you'll need the micro SD adapter that is included in the nGauge packaging.
** If you do not have the proper port to put the SD card into your computer, an adapter will be needed - such as the one displayed in this link : Click HERE to view needed adapter
(B) Connect a mini-USB to USB adapter (not provided) to the face of the nGauge and to your computer.
Once powered on, Tap "Diagnostics" > "USB SD" to connect the device.
* Do not tap the X on the nGauge screen *
Open the nGauge folder/SD card on your computer and open it. Open "Custom Tune Files" and move or save the custom tune file to this folder.
If you used the SD card method, be sure to eject the card before removing. Otherwise, if you used the USB method, tap the X on the screen and unplug the device
Plug the nGauge device back into the vehicle, and navigate to Tuning -> Load Tune, selecting whichever tune file you wish to load into the vehicle. Tap the check mark to confirm and load the tune.
DATALOGGING THROUGH THE NGAUGE DEVICE
You will need to load a configuration file to your device, or you will need to select the needed parameters before datalogging
1) Start the vehicle
2) Tap the Gauges button
3) Tap the Connect button
4) If you have loaded a config already, the device will automatically display the gauges screen.
If not, you will need to manually select the parameters (check with your tuner to find out which are needed)
5) Once the gauges screen is displayed, tap anywhere on the screen to bring up the different options to datalog and tap the Start Log button
Allow the vehicle to get up to operating temp before starting the log, unless otherwise instructed
You will know that the device is recording because the log name and a small red square will display in the middle of the gauges
6) Perform the requested datalog and stop the log by tapping the small red square.
Once you tap the red square, the datalog will automatically save to the SD card
HOW TO LOAD CONFIGURATION (.ng) FILE TO DEVICE
1) Save the configuration (GAUGES-XXXXXX.ng) file to your desktop
2) Insert the SD card into your computer (A), OR connect your nGauge via cable (B)
Remove the Micro SD card from the device, and plug it into your computer - you'll need the micro SD adapter that is included in the nGauge.

Once powered on, Tap "Diagnostics" > "USB SD" to connect the device.
* Do not tap the X on the nGauge screen *
3) Transfer the configuration file from the computer to the device
Navigate to the desktop where you saved the configuration file on your computer, and copy the file.
Navigate to the NGAUGE (D:) drive on your computer, and delete the previous previous GAUGES.ng file before pasting the new GAUGES.ng file.
* Do not change the file name *
4) If you used the SD card method, be sure to eject the card before removing. Otherwise, if you used the USB method, tap the X on the screen and unplug the device
HOW TO RESET YOUR DATALOGGING CHANNELS ON DEVICE
1) Tap the Gauges button
2) Tap the Scan and Clear button
3) When prompted to delete all settings for current vehicle, tap the check button to confirm.
4) When prompted with the "found new model" screen, tap the check button to confirm
5) Select the English units and tap the check button to confirm
6) Select the FORD_GAS_2008_UP then tap the check to confirm.
7) Once the gauges come up, tap one of the four parameter boxes on the screen
8) Tap the signal button
9) Tap the star on all of the parameters requested by your tuner, then tap the check button
10) Tap Start Log to start recording the datalog
HOW TO UPDATE FIRMWARE ON NGAUGE DEVICE
Request the latest firmware file from VMP.
Save that file to your desktop.
Place the firmware on your device using either of the below options
Remove the Micro SD card from the device, plug it into your computer(this will require an Micro SD adapter which is included with the nGauge. Place the firmware in the root folder and DO NOT delete the old firmware and don't change the file name. Re-insert the SD card into the device when it is disconnected from power.
Select "Diagnostics" on the main menu, connect a mini-USB to USB adapter to the face of the gauge and your computer, select "USB SD", and open the nGauge drive on your computer. Place the firmware in the root folder and DO NOT delete the old firmware and don't change the file name. Tap the "X" on screen to pull the device out of USB SD mode.
4) Reconnect the device to the OBD-2 port.
5) Select "Diagnostics" on the main menu, select "settings", and select "update from SD".
6) New FW version should be displayed in "Diagnostics > Settings > Device Info".
If the update is unsuccessful or not found, repeat the procedure.
