Let’s improve our comprehension skill by doing the following exercise in which we’re going to identify some professions and occupations in English.
¿Can you group the following questions according to the place in which they’re commonly heard?
In today’s class, we’ll listen to 12 different questions and classify them according to the place in which they are frequently asked. I’ll be with you until question 6, but the rest is going to be independent work.
Remember that our comprehension skills, listening and reading, are really important to favor, and that’s why we’re doing this kind of exercises.
There are some other ways and synonyms to the word BECAUSE that we often use to give arguments, and in today’s class we’ll see how AS, SINCE and FOR can help you improve your vocabulary and have other alternatives to argue about something.
Whom, Where, Which, Whose, Who, and That, are relative clauses that we can use in English to connect or join a sentence.
In today’s class, we’ll talk about the three different ways to use a relative pronouns:
1. To replace a subject.
2. To connect two or more independent clauses.
3. To give additional information about the subject or subjects of the sentenc
Are you ready to start this listening exercise with Relative Clauses and Relative Pronouns? This is what we’re about to do in this class.
There are 3 different ways to talk about USED TO. To talk about Old habits, habituation process, and new habits.
In this class, we’ll talk about USED TO when referring to old habits, situations that happened at any time in the past but they don’t happen at the present.
Wh Questions are frequently used and combined when making questions, that’s why it is important to complement our classes by applying them during the questions.
There used to be is an expression that implies the usage of “used to” but it has a different meaning which we’ll talk about in this class.
We tend to use there used to be, there was, and there were indistinctly; but they have some differences that I want you to take into account from now on.
Let’s make this writing exercise together and let’s test what we’ve learned so far in this intermediate level.
With this lesson you’ll learn the Cardinal Points which are very useful when talking about directions and locating ourselves in a place, a city or wherever we are.
