Computer Science Educator
Valley Lutheran High School
Saginaw, MI
Welcome to the capstone portfolio for my Master of Arts in Educational Technology degree from Michigan State University. Here you will find an exploration of my thoughts on the concept of teaching computational thinking through game design and development. You will also find an exposition of some of the artifacts that I have created throughout the course of my studies in the MAET program.
A Bit About Me: Professionally
I am blessed to have my dream job teaching computer science at Valley Lutheran High School in Saginaw, Michigan. I get to work with an exceptionally talented and dedicated staff under visionary leadership from our administration team. Our mission statement is "Preparing students for life with Christ as our foundation" and we do our best to make a difference in the lives of our kids every day.
The school is a recognized service organization of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, which is a Christian denomination in the Lutheran tradition.

A Bit About Me: Personally
I am also blessed to be the husband of a wonderful wife and the stepdad of two great young adults. I was born in Munger, MI (home of the Potato Festival) and currently live nearby in Bay City. As for hobbies and interests, I enjoy studying theology, growing in my personal faith and trust in Christ, learning new things (currently JavaScript game development), watching history and science documentaries, spending time with my family, and taking my buddy, Ryder, on adventures. I hope you enjoy my site.
