Important dates and times:

Registration Deadline: 2 July 2021 (Friday).

Deadline for submission of videos and robot sizing photos: 16 July 2021 (Friday)

Judging period: 17 July 2021 (Saturday) - 29 July 2021 (Thursday).

Release of results of judging: 30 July 2021 (Friday).

Invitation to participate in East Zone DSTA-DSO Robotics Challenge 2021

    1. The East Zone Science & Technology Centre @ VJC is organizing the 2021 East Zone DSTA-DSO Robotics Challenge on 30 July 2021 (Friday), as part of the centre’s effort to inspire and create greater interest in Science, Technology, Engineering & Math during the newly revised STEM Festival. The purpose of the Challenge is to provide students with opportunities to exercise their creativity and problem-solving skills in the field of robotics, so that they may develop in these important areas.

    3. We are pleased to extend our invitation to your school to participate in this competition. The competition this year promises to be more challenging and varied than previous years. Please see Annex B for the details. Please note that we will not be organising the Autonomous Challenge this year. We will reinstate the Autonomous Challenge next year if the restrictions imposed due to Covid-19 are eased.

    4. Schools may register for the Challenge at the above Challenge website. Online registration must be done by 2 July 2021 (Saturday). All teams will be notified by email upon the receipt of their applications.

    5. Prizes and medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions for each of the four categories of the Exploration Challenge, namely (a) Heavy Robots category (Primary School), (b) Heavy Robots category (Secondary School), (c) Light Robots category (Primary School), and (d) Light Robots category (Secondary School).

    6. Prizes and medals will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd positions for each of the Primary and Secondary School categories of the competition.
