CHAIRPERSON: Delores Whyte
The Bargaining and Grievance Committee meets to deal with and process any discussion and action regarding local bargaining with the employer and any grievance disputes that need to be resolved with the employer.
10.4 That the Bargaining/Grievance Committee of the VIWTU consists of the Bargaining Chairperson, the President, the WRC Chairperson and the Pro-D Chairperson. The Chairpersons of the committees listed in 10.1 (above) will provide information and advice as required.

The Professional Development committee meets to explore, provide and share Pro-D opportunities to our members as well as handle the local Pro-D Finances.

The Social justice Committee meets to discuss current issues related to social justice including Racism, Sexism, 2SLGBTQIA+, and Indigenous Issues.
10.5 That the Social Justice Committee of the VIWTU consist of the Social Justice Chairperson, the Status of Women Contact Person, the PAR (Program Against Racism) Contact Person and the First Nations/Aboriginal Education Contact Person.

The Housing committee meets discuss all issues regarding housing and teacherages and any issues that may arise.

The Occupational Health and Safety Committee meets to discuss all concerns regarding safety at the workplace and any issues that arise due to unsafe work conditions or preventative measures to make safe work conditions.

The Working Relations Committee meets with the Employer to discuss issues that arise from our membership that need to be directed to the board. This committee provides an open channel communication between the Employer and the Union which can be used to handle matters quickly before they turn into bigger issues.

The Teachers Teaching on Call Committee meets to discuss matters that often affect TTOC's this committee is designed to give a voice to those who are historically forgotten in union matters.

The Curriculum Implementation Committee meets with the district to help guide and create the annual curriculum implementation day in-service.
